Welcome to the Final Major Project of Foundation Art and Design 2021-2022 (Level 3\4)!

This project, titled The Narrative of Printmaking, is about me, creating a short comic book/graphic novel, in which every panel (the boxes with the pictures, in case you didn’t know...) will be made using different forms of printmaking.

OOOOOOO, I know, exciting!

But why printmaking, or why a comic book I hear you ask?  

​

I knew I wanted to create a comic book/short graphic novel at some point, so why not now? I have the resources available to me, I have the skills/motivation and in my own opinion a rather good knowledge/understanding of comics and its world, so why not? But if so, how can I be different, how can I stand out?

PRINTMAKING!

Imagine it, strong, rich, natural and real prints, each one made by hand (mostly, there will be a laser-cutter involved at some point along the way) and care. Something that looks and feels real, even if it is scanned and digitally replicated, I hope that the prints I create can help make the story I tell all the more real. It will be a challenge, but who doesn’t like a good challenge?
