So, bit of a divert here with the project, but found something that I am going to try with the project when creating artwork. What I found is was it referred to is known as Shadow Boxes (Paper-cut Light Boxes), which are made from layers of card/paper of any colour (unusually one for each lightbox) placed in a box with each layer being at a set distance from one another, and a light shone through the back layer which is not cut at all (acting almost as a backdrop/background).
This idea to investigate this art form, came when looking back at the work that I have done recently with my printmaking, and how the idea of doing different layers of print have worked to some degree, but not as well as I had imagined. They fell short, or in other works became to dark. The design I had made for said prints, when created and viewed digitally, work very well and can be seen clearly as designed, but not fulfilled practically.
Yet, I do believe that this method might be a possible in creating my old design as well as some new ones, specifically designed for this method. It will take some research to figure it out and some careful planning, but I don't mind it.
Except, let the many paper cuts begin...
