Today I have been taking a quick look at the prices for the publisher Blurb which I will be using to create my book to contain this project, as well as to see what the page size are to help define and decide what dimensions I will use for my comic pages and the book as whole.
From what I have gathered so far, the prices are rather good for what I am trying to achieve, yet it will still cost a pretty penny for get them all printed. I have had a look through at their options and have decided that the Trade Paperbacks will be the best printing option for the book, as it is small and roughly the size of a manga, but a just little bigger so that the masses of text that go along with the short stories will be visible (and readable) alongside my illustrations.

The trade paperbacks come in three formats:
5x6 inches (or 13x20 cm)
6x9 inches (or 15x23 cm)
8x10 inches (or 20x25 cm)

I have a hard time gaging how big things are going to be with specified measurements, which is kind of funny to me since I am autistic, so like the person I am, I drew a to-scale drawing of each of the book sizes to help give me an idea of how big the trades were compared to one another, to help me pick which size I wanted to go with.
I sized up comic pages with the diagram that I drew up (single issue, volumes, manga) and to see how big they were in comparison and what I was going to need to be doing in order for my project to work. After a good half hour of comparing I decided that the MEDIUM size (6x9 inches/15x23 cm) was going to be the best fit for the book. It is not too small and not too large, just the right size and measurement to go with. This choice was also down to the fact that I then moved onto looking at the prices of getting this book printed.
On the BLURB website they have a page which specifies how much each book will cost to print, and changes depending on what information you put in, such as copies, size, colour, paper type, hardback or trade paperback and so forth. So, for me I inputted the rough estimate of 52 pages for the book, along with 15 copies.
Below is the result of the estimated cost of printing my estimated book size (selected options highlighted in black):

Like I said it will cost a pretty penny, but then so does everything is you are trying to make money.
For now, this is a start.
